Click an element on the left or drag it onto the page, then switch to Phone.

Your pages stay Shopify pages.

  • Saved to the page in Shopify

Content is saved as HTML in the page's or blog post's own content field, not on our servers. Aedify keeps no copy of it.

  • Styled by your theme

Text, headings and buttons take your theme's fonts, colors and button style by default. Style an element when you want it different.

  • No scripts on your storefront

Pages are plain HTML and one stylesheet. Product lists are rendered by your theme's Liquid, with live prices and stock.

Every element has its own settings.

Rows and columns for the layout, then text, headings, buttons, dividers, images, video, banners, maps and HTML code. Select an element on the canvas to set it up, with Style and Advanced panels when you want more control.

  • Link buttons, images and banners to any product, collection, page or blog post
  • Upload images or pick them from your store's Files
  • YouTube, Vimeo or your own video files, and Google Maps by address

Live products on any page.

The Products element shows a grid or a carousel from a collection, hand-picked products or a condition. Product data is never copied into the page: the cards are rendered on your storefront, so prices, sale prices and stock are always current.

  • Up to 50 products, sorted your way
  • Products per row for desktop, tablet and phone

Catch accessibility issues before you save.

Aedify checks each page as you build it, against WCAG 2.1 AA. Errors are things that fail it; warnings are likely problems. Select takes you straight to the element to fix.

  • Alt text on images, or marked as decorative
  • Link names, including linked banners, and vague link text
  • Video titles and captions, low-contrast banner and button text, skipped heading levels

Accessibility check

Errors fail WCAG 2.1 AA, which ADA claims are usually measured against. Warnings are likely problems.

Set up once, then build.

No theme code to edit. The Storefront setup checklist on Aedify's home page opens the theme editor at the right place and shows when each step is done.

  1. 1

    Turn on Aedify styles

Switch on the Aedify styles app embed in your theme. It adds the one stylesheet Aedify pages use.

  2. 2

Add Aedify content to your templates

Add the Aedify content block to your page template and your blog post template. It shows the page and renders product lists live.

  3. 3

    Create and build

Create a page or blog post in Aedify, or open one you already have, and build it. Save writes it straight to Shopify.

Questions merchants ask

What can I build with Aedify?

Shopify pages and blog posts. It doesn't edit your home page, product pages or collection pages, which your theme editor already handles.

Will it work with my theme?

It needs an Online Store 2.0 theme, which supports app blocks on page and blog post templates. Aedify's Storefront setup checklist shows whether your live theme is ready.

What happens to my pages if I uninstall?

They stay in Shopify, with their text, images and links, because they're saved in each page's own content field. Without the app's stylesheet the layout falls back to your theme's plain styling, and product lists no longer show, since the app's block renders them.

Can I still edit a page in Shopify's own editor?

Yes. Aedify notices when a page was changed outside it and shows a notice when you open it in the builder.

Does it slow my store down?

Aedify adds no scripts to your storefront: pages are HTML with one stylesheet, and product lists are rendered by your theme. YouTube, Vimeo and map embeds load only when they scroll into view.

Where are templates stored?

In your store, as Shopify metaobjects. Each template can be up to 64 KB, and a template that's in use can't be deleted until it's removed from its pages.

Does the accessibility check make my pages compliant?

It catches common problems in the content you build, such as missing alt text, unnamed links, low-contrast text and skipped headings. It can't check your theme or judge everything a person would, so treat it as a strong first pass rather than an audit.

Build the pages your store needs, in your theme's style.
